Trip To Goa

I went to Goa on 20th of this month. After attending my friend’s marriage at Belgaum on the 19th Saturday I started my journey with my friends for Goa in a cab. The distance from Belgaum to Goa is about 150 kms. We started at about 3 ‘o’ clock in the afternoon. Our first visit was a temple called Mangashi temple at 6 pm. The temple looked completely different from my home town temples. It had a light tower near its entrance. It was very beautiful to see them glow in the night. After that we left to Panjim, capital of Goa. Booked a lodge their for staying. That night we took a walk around our lodge.
After having dinner we walked along the roadside of the backwaters. It was very cool there. At one place we simply sat on the walls of a backwater side and were talking. Suddenly a man came from a cab and asked one of our friend “Can you come for Disco”. We all got shocked. But we managed to get rid of him. Then we all started laughing at our friend. All had fun then.
Next day (Sunday) we started our Goa trip. Our cab driver arranged a guide who can also speak Tamil. Our first trip was to Cocoa beach, we were taken a boat ride to the sea. The rower of the boat showed us Dolphins in the sea. Then showed us the prison built by Portuguese people located over a hill. Very few dolphins were there. I tried taking photos but couldn’t keep up to the Dolphin’s speed.
Next we went to Aguada fort. The fort has a very old light house tower. It also houses an underground prison. The fort is located on top of a hill. From the fort we can see the Cocoa beach.
Then we departed to a near by beach. I think it is Candolim beach. There is nothing wonderful in this beach except for 2 things. One is water scooter and another para-sailing. I chose the later. Initially little fear was there while climbing in parachute. But later it was full of fun though the ride lasted for only 10 minutes.
When we finished having fun in this beach time was already past 1 ‘o’ clock after noon. So we decided have lunch before our next visit. On our way we had lunch in a roadside restaurant. There I tasted two fishes a boneless and bone fish. I think that one fish is called kingfish. These fishes do not have taste like our river fishes.
Our fourth visit was to Vagator beach. This beach is famous for shooting of films like Puthu Puthu Arthangal and Dil Chahta Hai. I feel this is the best beach among the other beaches that I had visited.
Then we finally landed in Queen beach. It was evening 5 ‘o’ clock. There was a huge crowd in this beach. In this beach only we had fun in the water. All the others beaches we simply roamed around.
At about 7.30 pm we reached our lodge, refreshed ourselves and went to the deck of a big boat for a ride in the backwater which we had booked early in the morning. The boat started about 8.30 pm and finished its trip at 9.30 pm. In the mean time, the organizers in the boat gave us a description of Goa. Then they showed us their cultural dances of Konkani and Portuguese. Then finally people in the deck started dancing except me.
By next day morning we left Goa to go back home. Goa is wonderful place to visit but one day is not sufficient. We need at least 4 or more days to enjoy Goa trip. And also one must have loads of cash.
