phew what an adventure

today we took our first ever domestic flight in the US from san jose to phoenix. I checked google maps for the route to the airport; since it was just off 880, i thought it would be an easy ride. We started out at 4 in the evening, i got onto 880 and i think i took the brokaw exit, took a wrong turn and got lost. Luckily i had the GPS on the car, so used it to get back on 880 and get to the airport had to struggle to get to the long term parking. Quickly got onto the shuttle just as we were going on the shuttle we realized that we forgot to bring the car seat along :-) so continued anyway got down at the terminal c and went to the check-in counter. There we realized we forgot my laptop bag in the shuttle itself :-) so call the airport authority asked them for help. They radioed all the shuttle drivers asking them to check if any of them have the bag in their shuttle. In the mean while they told me to go wait for the same shuttle to come back at the stop. So i went to the shuttle stop and waited for the next shuttle from the long term parking. It was 5:15 already and our flight was to depart at 6:00 :-) i called up poorni to check-in the get the boarding pass. Then a shuttle for long term parking came i asked the driver to radio his other colleagues and find out if someone still had the bag on their shuttle. One driver called back saying that it on his shuttle. Cool !!! So he told me the shuttle number and told to wait till that comes back to this terminal. I asked him how long it would take, he told i would be around 30 mins, Great :-( That would mean i have 15 mins to get the boarding pass, clear the security check and board the plane. So i waited and watched a whole lot of long term shuttles pass by and none the one i wanted :-) finally my shuttle came at around 5:40, i quickly thanked the driver, grabbed the bag went back into the check-in counter. Took the boarding pass, completed the security check and ran to the boarding gate only to find that the flight was delayed by 30 mins :-D and the time was 5:55 :-D
